Football Manager predict Arne Slot to be sacked halfway through his first season

Football Manager has predicted that Arne Slot will be sacked as Liverpool boss halfway through his first season at the club.

Slot, who is currently in charge of Feyenoord, is expected to succeed Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool manager.

The Dutchman revealed his intention to take charge of Liverpool, and an agreement could be reached by the end of the weekend.

90Min ran a simulation on Football Manager 24 to see how Slot could fare at Anfield.

In the simulation, Slot is appointed as Liverpool boss after beating Tottenham's Ange Postecoglou to the job.

Slot elected to field a 4-2-3-1 formation and enjoyed a successful pre-season, while he had Benfica winger Ricardo Horta at his disposal, who joined prior to Klopp leaving. The new boss also chose to use Trent Alexander-Arnold in midfield.

However, Slot endured a challenging start to the campaign, with Liverpool suffering five defeats in their opening 12 matches as they were beaten by Aston Villa, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Tottenham and Arsenal.

Matters improved somewhat for Slot in October and November and he then moved to bring in midfielder Maurits Kjaergaard from RB Salzburg for £40.5million in January.

In 2025, though, things took a turn for the worse for Liverpool and Slot. Losses to Norwich and Nottingham Forest increased the pressure on the manager, although Liverpool did manage to progress in the Champions League by overcoming Red Star Belgrade.

Slot didn't manage to cling on for much longer, as he was sacked in February in the simulation following defeats against Chelsea and Manchester United.

Mohamed Salah struggled to make an impact under Slot and was lacking his usual clinical nature in front of goal.

In the simulation, Slot is replaced as Liverpool manager by Brighton
