Manchester United receive much-needed quadruple injury boost

Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag has confirmed that Mason Mount will be back in the squad for Saturday's Premier League clash with Burnley at Old Trafford.

In a further boost for the 20-time English champions, Ten Hag revealed that Luke Shaw, Lisandro Martinez and Anthony Martial are all in line to return to action before the end of the 2023-24 campaign.

The Red Devils still have significant injury issues, with Tyrell Malacia, Martial, Shaw, Martinez, Victor Lindelof, Raphael Varane, Marcus Rashford, Jonny Evans and Willy Kambwala on the sidelines.

«So same squad but apart from Mason Mount. He will return into the squad,» Ten Hag told reporters when asked about the club's injury situation ahead of Saturday's game against Vincent Kompany's side.

Man United are again set to be missing seven defenders for the clash against Burnley, which is likely to mean another start in the middle of the defence for Casemiro.

The Red Devils twice came from behind to record a 4-2 victory over Sheffield United in Wednesday's Premier League clash at Old Trafford, and the team will now be bidding to make it successive victories on Saturday.
