Yesterday, the Nexusmods team put out a detailed update regarding what's going on behind the scenes. As many modders had expected, it is indeed from a surge of Fallout players.

Nexusmods is a free, community mod-hosting platform. A home to over 500,000 individual mods spanning over 2,800 games, it is currently the biggest modding site for numerous PC games by a mile.

According to Nexusmods, with the bandwidth needed for this huge amount of data transfer, you can download "the entire Skyrim SE game twice every second for several days."
