Lille predicted XI v Lens: Angel Gomes out, Rémy Cabella to start

After suffering a hamstring injury, Lille OSC’s Angel Gomes (23) is set for a three-week absence, which will notably see him miss Friday’s Derby du Nord against RC Lens.

The former Manchester United man suffered the injury during training. Paulo Fonseca has options at his disposal to replace Gomes, who is Lille’s third-most-used outfield player this season. It is likely to be Rémy Cabella who takes his place against Lens on Friday.

Gomes joins Samuel Umtiti, Andjej Ilić and Tiago Morais on the sidelines. Fonseca isn’t expected to spring any surprises with the in-form Jonathan David set to lead the line ahead of Ysufu Yazici. Only Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappé has scored more than the Canadian international in Europe’s top five divisions in 2024.
