Wendie Renard returns to France squad, Thiniba Samoura retains her place

Hervé Renard has announced the France squad for the opening qualifiers to Euro 2025 against Ireland (5th of April) and Sweden (9th of April). It’s a squad that will see Wendie Renard return to the fold after the captain’s latest injury problems saw her miss three months of football.

In her absence, Thiniba Samoura had earned a call-up to the squad as cover but maintains her place with Renard not expected to be used in both games. Alongside the captain, Vicki Becho is the only other inclusion from the squad that lost to Spain in the Nations League final, with Clara Matéo and Amel Majri dropped.

Goalkeepers: Pauline Peyraud-Magnin, Constance Picaud, Solène Durand

Defenders: Wendie Renard, Élisa de Almeida, Estelle Cascarino, Sakina Karchaoui, Maëlle Lakrar, Griedge Mbock, Ève Périsset, Thiniba Samoura

Midfielders: Amandine Henry, Kenza Dali, Grace Geyoro, Selma Bacha, Sandy Baltimore, Léa Le Garrec, Sandie Toletti

Forwards: Eugénie Le Sommer, Marie-Antoinette Katoto, Kadidiatou Diani, Vicki Becho, Delphine Cascarino, Julie Dufour
